After using the Soap & Glory 'Flake away' Peeling for quite a while I've decided to try out Rituals' Himalaya Scrub (Sweet Almond Oil & Indian Rose).
The packaging looks very nice, feels sturdy and has an overall great design.
It contains 450g product and costs 19.50€ which I think is completely fine considering how much product you get.
On the back it says: 'Purifying Himalayan scrub salt: Revitalise your skin with this velvety soft and cooling body scrub. Leaves a deep-acting, moisterising and protective film on your skin.'
Ingredients: ODIUM CHLORIDE, ETHYLHEXYL STEARATE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, PARFUM/FRAGRANCE, LIMONENE, MENTHOL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, LINALOOL, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, PRUNUS PERSICA (PEACH) KERNEL OIL, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL, COUMARIN, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, CITRONELLOL, BENZYL BENZOATE, MENTHA PIPERITA OIL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, TOCOPHEROL, OCIMUM BASILICUM EXTRACT, OCIMUM TENUIFLORUM EXTRACT, ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER OIL
When you open the product you'll definitely smell a sweet, nutty(Almond) and pleasant scent that is not overwhelming at all with a subtle rose scent.
When looking closely you'll see small salt crystals mixed in with different kind of oils such as Macadamia oil, Jojoba seed oil and much more.
Right after putting the scrub on my damp skin in circular motions I feel it working its wonders. Trust me, I've tried out quite a range of scrubs in the past but this one really did its job.
The small salt crystals feel coarse but not unpleasant.
After washing it off my skin felt super duper soft, hydrated, refreshed and smelled gorgeous. As the product claims it has left a protective film over my skin and the scent lasts for a long time.
Do I recommend it?
YES, I LOVE it ♥. Even though I have very sensitive skin, there was no irritation whatsoever! Furthermore the formulation is awesome. At first I didn't expect much because it reminded me of those DIY sugar scrubs with coconut oil. So the reason why I bought it was because of the heavenly scent (I mean who does not love nice smelling things?) But against my expectations it's the best scrub I've encountered so far! It hydrates while removing dead skin cells.
Pros:
- gets rid of my dead skin cells
- does not smell cheap but rather a sweet and pleasant smell with an expensive feel
- the packaging with the whole indian vibe
- protective moisture barrier
Cons:
- Make sure not to scrub too hard, light circular motions are enough
- not travelfriendly
So definitely buy one if you have the chance to get your hands on one!
